The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh is going to bring a big gift for married daughters! Till now, breaking the old tradition of not getting a share in the father’s land, the government has cleared the way for married daughters to give rights in property. What is this new decision and how will the lives of daughters change? Let’s know.
Big change in the rights of daughters
A revolutionary step is being taken in Uttar Pradesh regarding the rights of women. Till now married daughters did not get a share in their father’s agricultural land, but now this old rule is going to change. The Revenue Council has prepared a proposal in this direction, which will be sent to the government soon. After the implementation of this proposal, married daughters will also be able to become equal shareholders in their father’s land.
Talk of old rule and discrimination
Currently, under Section 108 (2) of Uttar Pradesh Revenue Code-2006, if a male Bhumihar passes away, his land is renamed as his widow, sons and unmarried daughters only. Married daughters are deprived of this right. This rule was considered discriminatory for a long time, and because of this many daughters were deprived of their father’s property. Now the Yogi government has taken steps to end this discrimination, which is being praised everywhere.
When will the new rule apply?
The Revenue Council has finalized the proposal and will be sent to the government this month. If everything goes well, then soon the married daughters will open the way to get a share in their father’s land. This decision is not only a major victory for daughters, but will also promote equal thinking in society.
