Kalyani Priyadarshan ’s ' Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra ' continues its golden run at the box office, emerging as the undisputed Onam winner this year. The fantasy drama has now collected more than Rs 82.6 crore across languages in just 11 days, according to early trade estimates.

A powerful second weekend surge for 'Lokah'

As reported by the Sacnilk website, after an impressive opening week that brought in Rs 54.7 crore, the film held its ground strongly in the second weekend.


On Day 11 (Sunday), the movie minted an estimated Rs 10.25 crore India net, with Malayalam leading the charts at Rs 7.5 crore.


Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi markets also contributed significantly, taking the total tally to Rs 82.6 crore. The weekend surge proved that Lokah is enjoying solid word-of-mouth and repeat viewership, particularly in its home market.

High occupancy shows audience love

On September 7, 'Lokah' registered an extraordinary 87.45% occupancy in Malayalam theaters. The afternoon and evening shows touched a near-packed 93%.

Even the Telugu version maintained a healthy 52.37% overall occupancy which is a promising sign for a Malayalam-led multilingual project.

Kalyani Priyadarshan leads a strong ensemble

Headlined by Kalyani Priyadarshan, the film also stars Naslen K. Gafoor, Sandy Master, Arun Kurian, and Vijayaraghavan in pivotal roles. The box office collections of the Kalyani Priyadarshan are expected to soar in the coming days as the occupancy rates and the audience's interests are still high even after 11 days. Majority of the theatres are fully booked even on working day, which is surely a positive sign.
