If the hospital is not treating with the Ayushman card, where to complain? Know the important thing.

If the hospital included in the panel refuses treatment to the Ayushman card holder, then he can complain through the online portal, toll free number or Umang app. For this, it is necessary to keep the photo of the card, hospital slip.

The Prime Minister Ayushman Bharat Yojana of the Central Government provides free treatment up to 5 lakhs annually to poor and needy families. Under this scheme, more than 41 crore Ayushman cards have been made so far and about 31,466 hospitals across the country are included in this panel. These also include about 14,194 private hospitals.

Despite this, many times complaints come to the fore that the hospitals included in the scheme refuse to give treatment to the card holders. Regarding this, the government rules also clearly say that if the hospital included in the panel has the treatment for the concerned disease, then it cannot refuse. If someone does this, action can be taken against the hospital, it can be removed from the panel. In such cases, card holders have many options to lodge a complaint.

How to lodge a complaint online

If the hospital refuses treatment, then first of all a complaint can be lodged online. For this, you have to go to the official portal https://cgrms.pmjay.gov.in/GRMS/loginnew.htm and click on Register Your Grievance. After this, you have to enter the captcha code and select the scheme and you can submit the complaint by filling the required information. On registering the complaint, a Grievance ID is received which is important to keep safe.

National toll free number 14555 can be issued to lodge a complaint. Apart from this, different states have also given their helpline numbers.

You can also complain through Umang app

Another easy way to register a complaint is Umang app. Go to the Ayushman Bharat section in the app and select Grievance Redressal and after that you can register a complaint by filling in your information there. While making a complaint, it is important to note the photo of the Ayushman card, hospital slip or proof of denial like audio or video and the date and time of the complaint. Along with this, the status should also be checked regularly with the received Grievance ID.
