Social media 'Ghaati' review

While the numbers are decent, the talk around Ghaati has been mixed. Early reviews on social media reflect a divided opinion. One user on X (formerly Twitter) called the second half of the movie "good," but mentioned issues in other areas.

Anushka Shetty, who is lovingly called "Sweety" by fans, has been receiving praise for her strong screen presence. Her performance is being seen as one of the strong points of the film, even by those who felt the film's storytelling could have been stronger.

The film is set in the Eastern Ghats, which lie on the Andhra-Odisha border and follows a marginalized tribal group called Ghaatis who are working as laborers and transporters as they are involved in a cannabis smuggling operation.

The character Sheelavathi played by Anushka Shetty is a bus conductor from the Ghaati community. She with Desi Raju played by Vikram Prabhu gets entangled in the dangerous underworld of cannabis trade controlled by powerful crime lords Kaastala Naidu and Kundulu Naidu.
