SSC Notice: Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has banned question paper sharing and analysis on social media to ensure exam transparency. Now in such cases, the culprits will have to face jail and fine. This activity is completely banned under PEA Act 2024.

SSC Notice: Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has taken a big decision to maintain transparency in competitive examinations. The Commission has made it clear in a recent notice that any kind of material related to the question papers of the examinations can no longer be shared on social media or online platforms.

SSC said that it has come to its notice that some people and coaching institutes are discussing and analyzing question papers on social media during or immediately after the examination. The commission clarified that this activity is completely prohibited under the Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024 (PEA Act 2024).

What will be the punishment?

Those who violate this law will have to face severe punishment.

If any person is found guilty, then he can be punished with 3 to 5 years of imprisonment and a fine of up to Rs 10 lakh.

The institutions will be fined up to Rs 1 crore, blacklisted and excluded from future examinations.

If the case is found to be an organized crime, then 5 to 10 years of imprisonment and a fine of at least Rs 1 crore is fixed.

Why was this step taken?

Recently, the question papers and analysis of the examinations were spreading rapidly on social media. This was raising questions on the confidentiality of the examination. Many candidates complained that hardworking students are being harmed by such trends. For this reason, the commission has now taken a tough stand.

What things should the candidates keep in mind?

  • Do not share the question paper on social media even after the exam is over.
  • Stay away from paper analysis on coaching classes, YouTube channels or any online medium.
  • The commission has warned that no one will be spared in such cases.
  • This step of SSC is considered important in the direction of strengthening the transparency and credibility of the examination process.
