PTC Web Desk:  The Delhi High Court on Tuesday said it would issue injunction orders to safeguard actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s personality rights, following her complaint that her images were being morphed and misused online.

Appearing for the actor, senior advocate Sandeep Sethi informed the court that Aishwarya Rai’s likeness was being exploited without her consent by several online entities. He argued that her face had been used on merchandise such as coffee mugs and was also being featured in fake pornographic content. “I am enforcing my publicity and personality rights,” Sethi said, adding that these unauthorised images were an infringement of her rights.

Presenting screenshots from YouTube, Sethi noted that many of the images in circulation were AI-generated, depicting unreal intimate photographs, and stressed that the actor had never authorised such use. “Her name and likeness are being misused to satisfy someone’s sexual desires. Very unfortunate,” he submitted.

Google’s counsel pointed to a previous case linked to the film Andaz Apna Apna, where flagged links had been shared and later removed.

Justice Tejas Karia directed that 151 URLs flagged by the actor be taken down, with the order to be uploaded by Tuesday evening. The court further observed that injunctions would be issued separately against each of the defendants. “We will pass orders against each defendant because the prayers are broad. But injunction will be granted individually,” the judge said during the hearing.

The case is scheduled for the next hearing on January 15, 2026.
