Task has just started airing on Sky and HBO and the seven-part weekly crime drama comes from the co-creator of Mare of Easttown.

The series follows an FBI Agent leading a Philadelphia Task Force to stop a string of violent robberies.

The first episode went down a hit with viewers, with many taking to X, formerly Twitter, to share their thoughts.

Where is Task set?

The miniseries is set in Philadelphia and follows an FBI agent, Tom Brandis, and former priest who is recently called back to the field.

He has just taken some time off from the field due to a family tragedy.

Tom is tasked with putting to an end a string of violent robberies undertaken by an unassuming family man, Robbie Prendergast.

Where is Task filmed?

Filming took place in March 2024 in the Delaware County, Pennsylvania and Philadelphia.

Creator Brad Ingelsby told timeout.com: "The sense of duty and family I observed growing up in Delaware County has become a subject I’m very passionate about

"I like writing characters and stories set in this region of Pennsylvania and I wasn’t scared to return to a place I’ve come to know so well because it’s in the blood in my veins, and I knew there was more material to mine."

Specific locations in the Delaware County include Ridley Creek State Park, Neumann University, Marcus Hook Community Center.

Locations in Philadelphia and beyond included Marsh Creek State Park, Sixpenny Creek Quarry in French Creek State Park, Bangor Quarry and Woy Bridge.

What is Task about?

Task follows Tom Brandis who is struggling after his wife's death and turns to drinking.

Despite his trauma, he is called in by his bureau chief, Kathleen, to organise and lead a task force following a number of robberies in Delaware County’s drug houses.

The robberies are being carried out by Robbie Prendergrast and Cliff Broward, two garbage men.

Tom and Robbie are both struggling with their home lives, despite their very different professions.

Following the departure of his wife and the murder of his brother, Robbie is trying to raise his 21-year-old niece, Maeve.
