Is it right to take pink salt and can harm it more? Today we will tell you the answers to all these questions
What is pink salt?
Pink salt, also known as Himalayan Salt, comes mainly from Khevada mines in Pakistan. It contains natural minerals such as – calcium, potassium, magnesium and iron (this means it has pink color). But the thing to note is that these minerals are in very small amounts – so low that you do not make much difference on your daily nutrition.

Is Pink Salt Healthy?
positive side
- It is minimally processed, so some people consider it as “natural”.
- For those who can be allergic to iodine, it can be an option (although such cases are very rare).
negative side
- It does not contain iodine, which is necessary for thyroid health. Iodine is added to white salt (iodized salt).
- Pink salt is also basically sodium chloride. That is, if you eat more, then blood pressure and heart problems will be as much as white salt.
Damage from taking more pink salt
- Due to high blood pressure-sodium content, excessive intake is harmful.
- The load on the kidney increases the impact on the kidney.
- Iodine deficiency-If you only depend on pink salt, there may be a deficiency of iodine in the body-which can cause problems to Goiter (Galgand) and thyroid.
What to eat – pink salt or white salt?
Use iodized white salt in everyday cooking so that iodine needs are met. Sometimes pink salt can be used for taste or decoration (eg in salads or drinks).
