Sivakarthikeyan 's film ' Madharaasi ', directed by A.R. Murugadoss , is running successfully in theatres, despite the mixed reviews. As the climax of the film has attracted a lot of attention among the fans, the director revealed the film's original climax plan.
'Madharaasi' was supposed to have a sad climax
Speaking in a YouTube chat with Sudhir Srinivasan, Murugadoss said that the original climax was written to end with Malathi's ( Rukmini Vasanth ) death. In that version, Raghu (Sivakarthikeyan) was unable to save his beloved, and the story goes that it is only after her loss that he begins to help others.
However, the climax was changed midway through filming because the director felt that the format would make the hero's character look weak if he failed to save his love. A change was made within the story to reportedly reinforce the hero's strength and positive impact.
A flashback scene of the villain chopped
AR Murugadoss also revealed that a flashback scene was planned between the roles of Vidyut Jammwal and Shabbir, who played the villain. In that scene, it was imagined that Shabbir would lose his hand in an encounter that took place when he was arrested by the police at the age of 18. However, the animation required for that scene was not done properly, so it was not included in the film, stated the director.
'Madharaasi' box office performance
After the failures of 'Darbar' and 'Sikandar,' AR Murugadoss needed a successful comeback, and 'Madharaasi' has given him that break. At the same time, it has also strengthened Sivakarthikeyan's action hero image.
Released after the success of 'Amaran,' the film earned close to Rs 100 crore in 5 days. Next, Sivakarthikeyan will be seen acting in 'Parasakthi,' which is expected to bring new heights to his career.
