New Delhi:In a major development Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has announced that it has established a wholly owned subsidiary—Reliance Intelligence Limited—as part of its large-scale investment plan in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The company in a filing to the stock exchange said that it received the certificate of registration from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs on September 9. It is important to note that Reliance had announced the formation of an AI-focused subsidiary during its Annual General Meeting (AGM) held last month. To recall Mukesh Ambani at the AGM had said that Reliance Intelligence will develop gigawatt-scale AI-enabled data centers across the country which will be powered by green energy. These data centers will be used to meet the national-level needs of AI training and inference. Here are some of the important details: Reliance Industries’ new subsidiary will focus on four key missions. It will work on building next-generation AI infrastructure in the country promoting global partnerships creating AI services for India and developing AI talent. Construction of gigawatt-scale AI data centers has already begun in Jamnagar Gujarat. These centers will be built in phases and powered by Reliance’s new energy ecosystem. The annual general meeting (AGM) of Reliance Industries’ shareholders was held in August. In this meeting Mukesh Ambani gave his twin children Akash and Isha (33) the opportunity to present business plans for the telecom and retail sectors respectively. The youngest Anant (30) was appointed as an executive director on Reliance’s board in May. During the AGM he made his debut by sharing details about the business signaling that his role has now become more significant than ever.
