Charlie Kirk, a prominent Conservative activist and fervent supporter of former President Donald Trump, has been shot during an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.
The incident occurred around 12:25pm local time in the university's quad near the campus food court.
A spokesperson for Kirk confirmed the incident to Fox News, stating, "Charlie Kirk has been shot at Utah Valley University. Condition unknown." The news comes as Trump health fears spark debate as Jon Stewart takes brutal swipe.
'A single shot rang out'Scott Trotter, Senior Director of Public Relations at UVU, also confirmed the details of the incident to the BBC. He said, "A single shot rang out in the quad near the food court on the Utah Valley University Orem Campus as Mr. Charlie Kirk began speaking at his planned rally. We can confirm that Mr. Kirk was shot, but we don't know his condition."
Kirk, a family man who is married to real estate agent Erika Frantzve, with whom he shares two children, a daughter and a son, was rushed to a nearby hospital. No further details on his condition have been released as yet, reports the Express US.
