Mumbai: Adani Group’s company Adani Power Limited on Wednesday announced that it has secured an additional Letter of Award (LoA) from MP Power Management Company Limited (MPPMCL) for the supply of 800 megawatt power. The 800 MW power will be supplied under the Greenshoe option. In its filling the Adani Power Limited stated that it will supply the capacity from its new 800 MW ultra-supercritical thermal power project which has been set up in Madhya Pradesh’s Anuppur District. In addition to the previous LoA for 800 MW received on August 29 the total capacity awarded by MPPMCL now amounts to 1600 MW. According to Adani Power chief executive S B Khyalia “We are delighted to strengthen our partnership with MP. This reinforces our commitment to provide reliable affordable and sustainable power to the state and its people while supporting India’s energy security and economic growth.” Will This Adani Project Succeed In Attracting Investment And Creating Jobs? It is worth noting that the Adani company is going to invest around Rs 21000 crore for setting up setting up the plant. Once start the project is likely to generate about 9000-10000 direct and indirect jobs during the construction phase. Once get operational it will generate about 2000 employments.
