One such story is that of former Mokama MP Surajbhan Singh, whose life was saved by a unique incident in 1993 among the AK-47 bullets. Bullets were raining

In 1993, the political and regional power struggle between Surajbhan Singh and the notorious Bahubali Ashoka Samrat of Begusarai in Mokama was at the peak. That morning, in the morning, Ashoka Samrat jumped from the third floor and started firing bullets on Surajbhan Singh from AK-47. In that attack, Surajbhan Singh suffered a serious injury to his leg and two close friends standing with him were killed.

But amidst this deadly battle of life, an unexpected hero came out, a cow that put himself up between Surajbhan Singh and death. Due to that cow, the bullets could not reach Surajbhan directly and they survived. However, his life did not die, but the pain and wound of the leg continues to remind him even today. Doctors advised to cut their feet several times, but Surajbhan Singh sometimes refused to accept this advice.

Travel from crime to politics

Surajbhan Singh started with minor crimes. His name emerged in cases of extortion, kidnapping and murder in the 1980s. The infamous incidents of his era include the murder of Rabri Devi minister Brij Bihari Prasad, Madhurapur scandal and UP's Bahubali Sriprakash Shukla to AK-47 Tamana. Then in 2000 he took a big step on the political table, when an independent MLA from Mokama was elected. He then played an important role in bringing new political stability to Bihar by supporting Nitish Kumar. Ram Vilas Paswan, the founder of the Lok Janshakti Party, also came close to him and in 2004, he made him an MP from Ballia and made him the National Vice President of LJP.

Family politics and still continuing power struggle

Surajbhan Singh himself is unable to contest elections, but his political wealth is handling his wife Veena Devi, brother Chandan Singh and other family members. Each of them is active in the election field. In the 2025 Bihar elections, the challenge of 'changing history, geography and mathematics' in his politics became a topic of discussion in political corridors. At the same time, RJD has adopted Shahabuddin's family and there is a political competition of Bahubali family within the NDA.
