India's Character Rooted in Service, Says RSS Leader

On Wednesday, Mohan Bhagwat, the chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), emphasized that the essence of India's identity lies in its commitment to service. He believes this principle will guide the nation in serving the world with neutrality rather than aspiring to be a global superpower.

Bhagwat expressed concern that despite advancements in science and knowledge, conflicts continue to plague the world. He asserted that India is poised to show the world a new path, where the world will refer to India as a 'guru,' while India will consider them as 'friends.'

Speaking at the Somnath Jyotirlinga Maha Rudra Puja event organized by the Art of Living in Nagpur, he stated, 'Our goal is to ensure the welfare of the entire world, as we are not separate from it... we are part of the world. We will not do anyone a favor; instead, we will guide the world on a new path. While the world may call us 'guru,' we will call them our 'friends.' We will not strive to become a superpower like today's leading nations. Our approach will be to serve the world systematically and with neutrality.'

He further noted that despite progress in science and human knowledge, conflicts persist, and humanity remains dissatisfied despite having everything. Observing this turmoil, he remarked that the world is struggling and lacks direction.
