Popular Indian television actor Aly Goni has revealed that he has been receiving death threats simply for refusing to chant a specific Hindu religious slogan. The actor, who is a practicing Muslim, took to social media to condemn rising religious intolerance and assert the importance of individual freedom of belief.
In a strongly worded message, Aly expressed his dismay over extremist elements in society trying to impose religious slogans and practices on others. He stated that faith is a deeply personal matter, and no one has the right to dictate what religious chants or rituals another person should follow.
“This is my personal belief, and I won’t allow anyone to force their religion on me,” Aly said. He emphasized that those spreading hatred in the name of religion must be exposed and held accountable.
Aly further revealed that the harassment is not limited to him alone — his close friend and fellow actor Jasmin Bhasin, who is Hindu and known to be in a relationship with him, is also being targeted. He added that she is facing backlash simply for being associated with a Muslim man.
The actor issued a clear warning that he would not stay silent if anyone made derogatory remarks against his mother, sister, or friends. “I respect every religion, but if someone disrespects my loved ones, I will respond,” he asserted.
Fans on social media have come out in strong support of Aly, expressing concern for his safety and applauding him for standing up against hate speech and religious coercion.
Aly Goni’s statement sheds light on the growing tensions and challenges faced by public figures who refuse to conform to the extremist ideologies prevalent in certain sections of society. His message is a call for tolerance, respect, and unity in a time of increasing division.
