Flood relief work in Punjab

The Mir Foundation of Bollywood’s famous actor Shah Rukh Khan has recently come forward to help the families affected by the floods affected in Punjab. The Foundation has distributed relief kits, which will help in rehabilitation.

Punjab has been facing the most serious flood situation in recent years. This flood has come due to the increase in the water level of Sutlej, Vyas and Ravi rivers due to heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.

The Foundation said in a statement that the initiative will assist 1,500 families in Amritsar, Patiala, Fazilka and Ferozepur districts in collaboration with local non-governmental organizations. Relief kits include essential commodities such as medicines, hygiene materials, food items, mosquito nets, tarpaulin, folding beds and cotton mattresses.

The main objective of this campaign is to meet the health, safety and shelter requirements of flood affected families immediately, so that they can resume their lives with respect.

Last week, Shah Rukh Khan expressed his sympathy to the people of Punjab on the social media platform ‘X’. He wrote, ‘I have condolences to the people affected by this devastating flood in Punjab. My prayers and support are with them. The spirit of Punjab will never break, God should maintain grace on everyone.

The Mir Foundation, which has been established by Shah Rukh Khan, has been active in disaster relief works and social campaigns in various parts of the country earlier.
