After the arrival of ChatGPT Go, Google decided to make its Gemini premium features available at a modest monthly subscription price. Hence, Google introduced the AI Plus plan, which is designed to bridge the gap between the free and premium subscription plans. Google AI Plus aims to bring Gemini's advanced capabilities to a wider audience without making them pay a hefty price.

The AI Plus plan, which is currently available only in Indonesia, offers a sneak peek of Gemini's premium features at a lower price. Google has not yet made the AI Plus subscription plan available in India, but after the launch of OpenAI's ChatGPT Go, Google is expected to bring it to our country soon.

Google AI Plus: What you get
The AI Plus plan gives subscribers many powerful Gemini features at an affordable price. Members will get access to the Gemini 2.5 Pro AI model and the Veo 3 fast video generation tool. A big advantage of this new plan is the 128K token context window for Gemini AI models, which is a huge upgrade from the 32K limit of the free tier.

Apart from these AI features, the subscription also includes integration of the Gemini side panel, which will be available in popular Google Workspace applications like Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, and Drive. Subscribers will also get access to tools like Whisk and Flow, as well as 200GB of additional cloud storage that can be used in Gmail, Drive, and Photos.

This new tier is positioned below Google's existing premium offerings. For comparison, the AI Ultra plan is priced at Rs 24,500 per month in India, and the AI Pro plan costs Rs 1,950 per month. With the AI Plus plan, Google can make its Gemini AI features more accessible.

Comparison to ChatGPT Go
Google's new plan comes after a similar move by OpenAI. Offered as an 'India-only' subscription model, ChatGPT Go is priced at Rs 399 per month and is designed for the Indian market. ChatGPT Go gives users expanded access to the company's flagship GPT-5 model, increased limits on image generation, and longer conversational memory.
