Tirna. Albania has taken a unique step to prevent corruption. Here an AI Minister has been created for this. The Albania leader said on Friday that his new cabinet would include an artificial intelligence (AI) minister. It will be in charge of smooth operation of public funding projects and fighting corruption in government tenders.
Prime Minister Eddie Rama said that this AI minister has been named Diela. In Albanian language, its name means ‘Surya’. It is a member of the cabinet who is not physically present, but is virtually created from AI. Rama said that Diela will help to ensure that ‘government tenders are 100 percent corruption free’.

Diella, wearing a traditional Albanian folk dress, was introduced as a virtual assistant on the E-Albania Public Service Forum earlier this year, where she helps users take advantage of services at the site.
Rama’s Socialist Party won power for the fourth consecutive time by winning 83 seats out of 140 assembly seats in the parliamentary elections held in Albania on May 11. Legal experts say more work may be required to establish the official position of Diella. Corruption has been a major issue in the country since the fall of Communist rule in Albania in 1990.
