Youth trained for disaster management

  • Taught taught to deal with disaster, administered oath to college staff and students

Faridabad. According to the instructions of the Indian Red Cross Society Haryana State Branch Chandigarh, the Youth Red Cross Training Camp was organized in KL Mehta Dayanand Women’s College, NIT-3, Faridabad from 09 to 13 September. The program was led by Secretary Bijendra Sauraot.

The closing ceremony was attended by Chief Guest Tehsildar Badkhal, Neha Saharan. On this occasion, Bijendra Solarot, Secretary, District Red Cross Society welcomed all the people present.

Last day activities of the camp

The director of the camp MC Dhiman gave details of the last day’s activities. Addressing the youth, the head of Mission Jagriti Sanstha, Pravesh Malik said that the contribution of Youth Red Cross is important in making the society aware. He urged all the participants to spread the information learned in the camp in their community.

The college’s Principal Dr. Meenu Dua appreciated the works of Red Cross and inspired the students to work hard to fulfill their dreams.

Number and competitions of participants

Deputy Superintendent Purushottam Saini said that 100 participants from 20 colleges and 20 Youth Red Cross Counselors participated in this camp. Dr. Supriya Dhanda informed the students about the importance of first aid.

Essays, speeches and music competitions were organized during the camp, in which the winners were honored. Participants were taught disaster management tricks and all were administered an oath of environmental protection.

Spokespersons of Red Cross Society gave the youth practical information on various aspects of first aid. The contribution of the college and the Red Cross staff in making this program a success was commendable.
