Dharamshala: — A recent comment on Facebook by senior BJP figure Sudhir Sharma, who is often seen as a rival to Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, has ignited discussions within Himachal Pradesh's political landscape.

On Sunday, BJP member Hoshiar Singh from Dehra, who previously ran against Kamlesh Kumar, the wife of CM Sukhu, posted about his involvement in a local wrestling event. What seemed like a simple social media update took on a political dimension when Sharma replied with a poetic couplet in Hindi, referencing the renowned poet Dinkar:

“ले लील भले यह धार मुझे,
लौटना नहीं स्वीकार मुझे.
दिनकर जी
निरंतर संघर्ष में रहिये आप प्रदेश की सबसे बड़ी जंग लड़ने जा रहे हैं।”

The poetic lines, which encourage Singh to stay in a “constant struggle” as he prepares for a significant political challenge, were interpreted as a potential political maneuver. Analysts suggested it could indicate Singh's intention to position himself against the Chief Minister in upcoming elections.

This exchange quickly drew the attention of journalists, political analysts, and social activists, who engaged in discussions about its implications across Facebook and other platforms. The post garnered numerous likes and shares, intensifying speculation regarding the dynamics within the BJP and its electoral strategy in Himachal Pradesh.

Although both Sharma and Singh have not provided further comments, the underlying message was clear to political observers. Hoshiar Singh, a well-known figure in Dehra's political scene, is seen as a potential contender in Sukhu's stronghold. Sharma, who has had a long-standing contentious relationship with the Chief Minister, appeared to offer implicit support through his poetic message.

This incident highlights the increasing significance of social media as a platform for political communication in Himachal, where indirect comments, symbolism, and cultural references often convey more than official statements.

As the state approaches a series of elections, the subtle yet pointed interaction between Sharma and Singh is perceived as more than just literary expression — it signals emerging strategies within the BJP aimed at challenging Sukhu in his own territory.
