We all go to the market and buy Arabic. It is a very common and delicious vegetable, which is used to make many types of dishes. But do you know that growing the Arabic that you buy and growing it on the small balcony or roof of your house is like a children’s game?

Yes, this is absolutely true! For this you do not need a big garden. A simple pot and a little care, and within a few months you will have grown, fresh, organic arabica. The biggest advantage of this is that you will not only get Arabica, but will also get its delicious leaves, from which patud or pakoras are made.

So let’s learn today the easiest and effective way to grow Arabic at home.

All you need is these things:

A good Arabic: Choose a healthy Arabic from your kitchen that has sprouts. Even if there is no sprouts in it, it will work.
A big pot: Arabic needs space to spread, so take a large and deep pot of at least 12-14 inches. Ensure that there is a drainage hole to drain water in the bottom of the pot.
Nutritious soil: Prepare a soil for pots that contain 50% of normal soil, 30% compost or vermicompost and 20% cocoa-peet. This will make the soil light and nutritious.

The easiest steps to grow Arabic:

Prepare Arabic: You can apply Arabic directly into the pot, or place it in a small bowl filled with water for a few days, so that the roots and sprouts come out quickly.
Plant in pot: Fill the soil in the pot. Now keeping the sprouts of Arabic upwards, press it in the soil about 3-4 inches. If you are applying more than one Arabic, then keep a short distance between them.
Give water and keep it in the sun: After planting, give water well in the pot so that the soil becomes moist. Now keep the pot in a place where it gets good sunlight for 4-5 hours daily. Protect it from fast, scorching sun.

when will it be? In a few days, you will see that beautiful, green leaves are coming out of the soil. These leaves grow very fast. Keep the soil moist, do not let it dry completely.

Harvesting: In about 4-6 months, when the leaves of the plant start to dry yellow, you will know that your Arabic is ready under the soil. You can grow fresh Arabic by slowly digging the soil.

This is not only a fun experiment, but also the best way to eat fresh vegetables, without any chemicals. So today take out an Arabic from your kitchen and grow it!
