The journey, offering a unique blend of spiritual and cultural experiences, is scheduled to commence from Amritsar on October 25, said IRCTC in a statement late last night.
The spiritual circuit includes visits to Mahakaleshwar and Omkareshwar (Madhya Pradesh), Nageshwar (near Dwarka, Gujarat), and Somnath (Veraval, Gujarat), four of the twelve revered Jyotirlinga shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva.
The itinerary also features visits to the Dwarkadhish Temple and the Statue of Unity at Kevadiya, Gujarat, said the statement.
Passengers can board the train at multiple stations en route, including Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Ambala, Kurukshetra, Panipat, Sonipat, Delhi Cantt, and Rewari.
The train has a capacity of 762 passengers, categorized under Economy, Standard, and Comfort classes, with fares ranging from Rs 19,555 to Rs 39,410 per person, as per the statement.
The package includes vegetarian meals on board, accommodation, local transfers, sightseeing, travel insurance, and security arrangements.
Accommodation and ground transport differ by class. The official noted that economy class passengers will be lodged in non-air-conditioned hotels and may use auto-rickshaws for local temple visits, while Standard and Comfort classes offer enhanced amenities.
The official made it clear the tour cost does not cover monument entry tickets, personal expenses, or gratuities. All travellers should carry valid identification and ensure they are medically fit to undertake the journey.
The itinerary remains subject to change based on operational considerations and prevailing local conditions.
The initiative is being marketed as a comprehensive spiritual and cultural tourism experience, reflecting a broader trend towards integrated heritage travel.
While the ancient Jyotirlinga temples underscore India’s deep-rooted religious traditions, the inclusion of the Statue of Unity symbolises a convergence of spiritual reverence and national pride.
With pilgrimage tourism witnessing sustained growth across the country, the package is expected to garner significant interest, particularly from devotees across Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi seeking a seamless pilgrimage experience.
Bookings for the tour can be made through IRCTC’s official website or at its regional offices in Chandigarh and Delhi.
