In a case of alleged fraud of Rs 60 crore, the Economic Offenses Branch of the Mumbai Police (EOW) on Monday questioned Raj Kundra for more than 5 hours. Authorities have filed Kundra’s statement in an unknown place to save the eyes of the media on the complaint of a businessman Deepak Kothari. This case was registered in August and earlier this month, the police also issued a lookout circular (LOC) against both Shilpa and Raj so that they could not leave the country during the investigation. What happened in the question? In the inquiry of EOW? In the inquiry of EOW, Raj Kundra claimed that the complainant was replaced as a loan of Rs 60 crore from Deepak Kothari, which was later changed in the company. He said that out of this amount, about 20 crore rupees were invested in broadcasting, celebrity promotion and other expenses. Kundra also told the officials that for the promotion, personalities like actress Bipasha Basu and Neha Dhupia were also paid and also handed over some pictures as proof. Now Eow is checking all these expenses and money transactions. Officials say that Shilpa Shetty is the company’s mazority shareholder in this case, so she will be called for questioning soon. An official also explained that the investigation is also being done on why Shilpa Shetty took a celebrity fee from the same company despite being the director of the company. Currently, investigation is going on in the matter and police say that they can call Raj Kundra for questioning again next week. At the same time, Kundra and Shetty have described all these allegations as baseless.
