Wrestlepalooza 2025 Match Announcement
The WWE Championship Match for Wrestlepalooza 2025 has been officially confirmed for this weekend. During the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, it was revealed that Cody Rhodes will defend his title against Drew McIntyre this Saturday night at WWE’s inaugural premium live event, which will be streamed live on the ESPN app.
This announcement follows events from the previous Friday's SmackDown, where Rhodes intervened to prevent McIntyre from attacking Randy Orton with a Claymore Kick. Following this incident, Rhodes issued a challenge for their championship match at Wrestlepalooza 2025.
After the match was confirmed on Raw, WWE's social media platforms began promoting it as one of the co-main events, alongside the highly anticipated match between John Cena and Brock Lesnar. Additionally, Rhodes is scheduled to appear on this week's SmackDown, just a day before Wrestlepalooza 2025.
Rhodes had been absent from television for several weeks due to his involvement in the new Street Fighter film and the birth of his second child. In the storyline, he was taken out by McIntyre with a Claymore kick during the August 8 episode of SmackDown. Triple H later announced that Rhodes would return in time for Wrestlepalooza 2025.
In a backstage segment on Raw, Stephanie Vaquer and IYO SKY officially signed the contract for their vacant Women’s World Title match at Wrestlepalooza 2025. Asuka also confronted Stephanie, who later won a singles match against Kairi Sane on the show.

Wrestlepalooza 2025 is being heavily promoted as WWE's first premium live event on ESPN. It will be broadcast from the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, at 7 PM Eastern Time on Saturday, September 20. The current match card includes:
