In the year 2025, Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month is known as Indira Ekadashi. This Ekadashi has special significance because this fast comes during Pitrupaksha. On the day of Indira Ekadashi, Shraddha Karma is performed by those who have died on the Ekadashi date of Krishna Paksha or Shukla Paksha.

Fasting

• Ekadashi fast can be passed on September 18, Thursday between 6:07 am to 8:34 am.
• It is mandatory to pass the fast before the end of Dwadashi date. On this day, Dwadashi date will end at 11:24 pm.

Worshiping

• Take a bath in the morning on Indira Ekadashi.
• Light a lamp in front of the idol or picture of Lord Vishnu and worship it with incense, flowers, Tulsidal and Panchamrit.
• Offer yellow clothes and seasonal fruits to Srihari.
• Chant Vishnu Sahasranama or Vishnu Mantra.
• Keeping fast throughout the day, remember the ancestors.
• Listen to the story in the evening and offer prasad by offering bhog.

According to the almanac, the fast of Ekadashi will be kept in auspicious yogas. Parigha Yoga is being built on this day. Also, Shiva will be a coincidence of yoga. By observing this fast, according to Shraddha Karma, you get virtuous fruits.
