CBI Takes Action Against Brokers in NSE Scam
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has submitted a supplementary chargesheet in a special court against several brokers involved in the National Stock Exchange (NSE) co-location scandal. Officials provided this update on Tuesday.
Previously, in 2022, allegations were made against Chitra Ramkrishna, the former managing director of NSE, along with others.
The newly filed chargesheet on Monday details the roles of brokerage firms and their operational methods.
The investigative agency had registered a First Information Report (FIR) in 2018 against Sanjay Gupta and OPG Securities under charges of criminal conspiracy, the Information Technology Act, and the Prevention of Corruption Act.
