1. The couple’s marriage date remains undisclosed
Hello! Magazine reported that Ellison, 81, and 34-year-old Zhu have not publicly revealed their marriage date.
The South China Morning Post noted that, despite confirming their marriage earlier this month, the couple has been seen together at sporting events several times since 2018.

Rumors of their union first emerged late last year when the Michigan Wolverines, representing the University of Michigan—where Zhu studied—released a statement signed by team chairman Nate Forbes, thanking Ellison “and his wife Jolin” for helping secure a US$10.5 million deal for star quarterback Bryce Underwood.
Ellison was reported to have separated from his fifth wife Nikita Kahn in 2016, with their divorce finalized in 2020.
2. She used to live near Oracle’s headquarters
The Daily Mail reported that after graduating in 2012, Zhu moved to California’s Bay Area, briefly living in an apartment near Oracle’s former headquarters in Redwood Shores.
Oracle Corporation, co-founded by Ellison in 1977, was led by him as CEO until 2014. He now serves as the company’s chief technology officer and executive chairman.
As of June 2024, Oracle ranks as the fourth-largest software and programming company in the world by market capitalization, while Ellison’s net worth is estimated at US$367.9 billion as of Sept. 17 by Forbesmaking him the second-richest person globally, just behind Elon Musk.
Ellison’s net worth soared by $89 billion to $383.2 billion on Wednesday after Oracle reported blockbuster earnings driven by booming AI- demand for data centers. Shares jumped 36% in their biggest one-day surge since 1992, briefly pushing Ellison ahead of Musk on Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index. Musk reclaimed the top spot by the market’s close, with $384.2 billion to Ellison’s $383.2 billion, according to CNN.
3. She became a U.S. citizen after studying in America
Born and raised in China, Zhu reportedly moved to the U.S. to attend Bard College at Simon’s Rock in Massachusetts, graduating in 2009. She later earned a degree from the University of Michigan in 2012 and is now a U.S. citizen, eligible to vote in federal elections.
4. She currently resides in multi-million-dollar estates
According to The Hollywood ReporterZhu is registered at a US$110 million estate in Woodside, California, owned by Ellison. She is also registered to vote in Florida at a US$173 million Palm Beach estate, where Ellison is similarly registered.
5. Her family background remains unclear
There are conflicting reports about Zhu’s upbringing. Some sources claim her father is the CEO of a medical device company in Liaoning, China, with family assets “easily exceeding 100 million yuan (US$14 million),” while others describe her family as middle-class. Her attendance at Bard College is often cited as an indication of a well-off background.
