Actor Stephen Fry has opened up about being among the cast of Celebrity Traitors in the show's most anticipated debut yet. For the first time since the reality show first launched in 2022, an all-new celebrity spin-off will see 19 prominent figures descend to the Scottish Highlands, where they will take on the game of deception. It was revealed that, unlike the original series, these stars will receive a salary of £40,000 for taking part, while the ordinary contestants are given a daily allowance of £100 while filming. However, during an appearance on BBC's The One Show, Stephen explained how the opportunity landed on his lap.
During the interview with presenters Roman Kemp and Alex Jones, the beloved Blackadder star sat alongside Reese Witherspoon, Karen Pittman, and Billy Crudup on the sofa and said: "It was an extraordinary experience." Stephen explained: "I always promised myself I would never be on a reality show, but I watched the game, and I thought this is the most revealing thing I have ever seen about the human mind."

He continued: "It's vulnerability, it's fragility, it's failure. Can we read people? Can we deceive people? It's a very basic question from high politics to everyday life we ask ourselves and being in it was a genuine thrill."
Stephen added: "Obviously, I can't say a word about what is in this recently recorded celebrity version, I suppose. I am certainly not telling you if I am a traitor or a faithful. I am one or the other.
"I was with a fascinating group of people like Jonathan Ross, Tom Daley, Clare Balding and Paloma Faith. They were lovely, an extraordinary bunch."
Celebrity Traitors will be hosted by Claudia Winkleman ahead of the season four release of its acclaimed murder mystery original gameshow, which will launch in January.

Jonathan Ross, Paloma Faith, Tom Daley, Kate Garraway, Alan Carr and Cat Burns will join Stephen in the Highlands, vying not to be caught out as a traitor.
Alongside Celia Imrie, Charlotte Church, Clare Balding, David Olusoga, Joe Marler, Joe Wilkinson, Lucy Beaumont, Mark Bonnar and Nick Mohammed complete the line-up with Niko Omilana, Ruth Codd, and Tameka Empson.
Sharing her anticipation about the upcoming series, Claudia stated: "We're incredibly lucky these brilliant people have said yes. I'd love to say we'll take it easy on them and they'll just wander round the castle and eat toast for a couple of weeks, but that would be a lie."
The celebrities will be divided into the Traitors and the Faithful, with each hoping to win a cash prize of up to £100,000 for a charity of their choice.
