Student Union Criticizes Retired Diplomat's Lecture
The student union at Lady Shri Ram College, affiliated with Delhi University, has strongly condemned remarks made by retired diplomat Deepak Vohra during a recent lecture. They labeled his comments as 'anti-women' and 'disparaging'.
When questioned about the allegations, Vohra did not provide a response.
The lecture, titled 'Unyielding India 2047', was organized by the BA Program department on September 11 and aimed to discuss India's future in terms of policy and diplomacy.
According to a statement from the union, they objected to Vohra's alleged comment expressing a desire to be reborn as a man, which was made in response to the principal's suggestion of being reborn as a woman to study at LSR. The union stated, 'This reflects a deeply ingrained misogynistic mindset. We demand a public apology from him.'
