Bail Granted in Property Dispute Case

The Allahabad High Court has granted bail to senior leader of the Samajwadi Party, Azam Khan, in connection with a criminal case involving the alleged takeover of Quality Bar in Rampur district. This decision was made by Justice Sameer Jain, who reserved his judgment after hearing arguments from both parties on August 21, 2025.

According to the details, in 2019, a First Information Report (FIR) was filed by Revenue Inspector Angraj Singh against Syed Jafar Ali Jafari, Azam Khan's wife Tanzeen Fatima, and their son, former MLA Abdullah Azam, regarding the alleged property takeover.

Initially, Azam Khan was not named in the FIR. However, after a re-investigation five years later, he was implicated in the case. The Quality Bar is located in the Hardoi Patti area of Said Nagar, under the jurisdiction of the Civil Lines police station in Rampur.

During the hearing, the petitioner's lawyer, Imran Ulla, argued that there was an undue delay in filing the FIR, noting that the incident occurred in 2013. He further contended that it was not feasible to conduct another investigation five years later.
