Samsung Group has revealed its plans to recruit 12000 employees each year from 2025 to 2029 adding up to 60000 new hires over the five-year period. The move is to create quality jobs for young people and strengthen the company’s future talent pipeline according to a report by Pulse the English service of Maeil Business Newspaper Korea. The report further noted that along with Samsung seven other leading South Korean conglomerates have announced recruitment drives together pledging to hire 30000 employees in the second half of 2025. The collective effort is intended to ease the country’s severe youth unemployment problem and help revive the struggling Korean economy. Other Group’s Job Hiring SK Group also plans to recruit about 8000 new employees in the second half of this year. On the other hand LG Group plans to hire 3500 in 2025 and aims to recruit 10000 over the next three years. Hyundai Motor Group also announced it will hire 7200 new employees in 2025 and an additional 10000 in 2026 focusing on sectors related to electrification and software-defined vehicles (SDVs) which are expected to drive the conglomerates next phase of growth the report said. Hanwha Group which is gaining prominence in the defence sector also announced plans to hire 3500 new employees this fall. POSCO Group announced it will hire 15000 young workers over the next five years as part of its effort to contribute to youth employment. Companies are well aware that if the Korean economy falters the foundation of their businesses will be shaken as well Pulse quoted an industry insider.
