LPG Cylinder Price: LPG cylinders are widely used for cooking in the country. Therefore, people are eagerly awaiting to know whether the GST on LPG cylinders has also been reduced.
LPG Cylinder Price: Following the recent GST Council meeting, several significant changes were made to GST rates. This will result in the reduction of many everyday items, such as shampoo, soap, baby products, health drinks, and more. Now, people are wondering whether the price of LPG cylinders will also decrease after the new rates come into effect on September 22nd. Since LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) is widely used for cooking in our country, fluctuations in its price could impact millions of people. Additionally, commercial LPG is used in hotels, restaurants, and other commercial purposes. In such a situation, people are eagerly waiting to know whether these will also become cheaper or not.
Will LPG cylinders become cheaper?
Since domestic and commercial LPG cylinders are different, different GST rates are currently levied on them. Currently, 5% GST is levied on domestic cylinders, while 18% GST is levied on commercial cylinders. In the GST Council meeting held on September 3, no changes were made to the GST rates on domestic LPG cylinders used for cooking in common people's kitchens. This means that they will continue to be charged at 5% (2.5% CGST + 2.5% SGST) as before. Currently, a 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder costs ₹853 in Delhi. Meanwhile, 18% GST will be levied on commercial cylinders, as before.
