Parts of a major motorway have been closed following a serious car crash. Motorists travelling on the M5 faced huge delays during rush hour this morning. Emergency services, including Devon and Cornwall Police, rushed to the scene after the incident. The force later confirmed a man was sadly declared dead at the scene.
A section of the motorway was shut in both directions between junction 27 (Tiverton) and junction 28 (Collumpton) in Devon following a crash on the southbound carriageway. On the northbound side, queues stretched as far as junction 29, where the motorway connects with the A30 at Exeter. Diversions were put in place for drivers heading both north and south.
