The Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has launched a new digital service called "Passbook Lite" for its millions of members. This facility will make accessing PF-related information easier and faster than ever before. Furthermore, members will now be able to download Annexure K, or the PF Transfer Certificate, on their own. This will expedite the process of changing jobs and transferring PF.
What are the benefits of Passbook Lite?
EPFO's new "Passbook Lite" service makes it even easier to view important PF-related information. You no longer need to log in repeatedly or go through complex processes. You can directly visit the member portal and see:
How much money has been deposited in your PF account so far
How much money have you withdrawn
And what is the current balance in your account?
You can now download Annexure K yourself.
When an employee moves from one company to another, their PF balance is transferred from the old account to the new one. During this transfer, an important document called Annexure K is created. Until now, it was shared only between PF offices. Employees could only receive it if they personally requested it. The EPFO has now digitized this process. You can now download Annexure K in PDF format from the EPFO's member portal. This makes the PF transfer process faster and more transparent. After changing jobs, you won't have to wait for any information. Now, everything is in your hands, just one click away.
Checking the status of your PF transfer is also easy.
The EPFO has now made information related to PF transfers available online. This means you can now check for yourself whether your PF has been transferred from your old company to the new one. Furthermore, you can also check whether the service period you worked at the old company is included in the new company's records. This information will be very useful in future pension (EPS) related processes, because online records are always safe and reliable.
