Zhao Han, co-founder of Chinese restaurant chain Yun Nans – also known as Yun Hai Yao – with over 200 outlets in Singapore, has died at the age of 40.
He suffered a heart attacked on Thursday, the company’s co-chief executive and co-founder Zhu Hai Qin said in a post Friday on Yun Nans’ official account on Chinese social media platform Weibo.

“This happened very suddenly. Thank you for all your concern. Like all of you, we are grieving,” she wrote, as reported by The Straits Times. Zhao’s funeral is scheduled for Saturday.
Yun Nans specializes in cuisine from the mountainous south-western province of Yunnan in China.
It claims to be the country’s largest casual dining chain, with more than 200 outlets. Founded in 2009, the company opened its first overseas restaurant at Jewel Changi Airport in 2019.
Zhu also said in the post that the food and beverage sector has gone through many hardships in recent years, adding that Zhao had been under considerable stress.
She pledged to continue working hard to make Yun Hai Yao successful, in honour of the commitment she and Zhao had shared.
