Cinnamon, which we often use to enhance the flavor of food, isn’t just limited to the kitchen. It’s a spice that boasts antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, making it an excellent skincare ingredient. It not only helps treat acne but also leaves skin glowing and healthy.

If you want to enhance your skin naturally, then you can use cinnamon in these 5 ways.

1. Cinnamon and honey face mask

This mask is very effective for acne and blemishes. Honey also has antibacterial properties, which, combined with cinnamon, help kill bacteria.

  • Ingredients: Half teaspoon cinnamon powder and 1 teaspoon honey.
  • How to use: Mix the two ingredients into a thick paste. Apply it to your face, especially acne-prone areas. Leave for 10-15 minutes before rinsing with lukewarm water.

2. Cinnamon and Oats Scrub

This scrub removes dead skin cells from the skin and cleans the pores, making the skin glowing.

  • Ingredients: 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder, 2 teaspoons oats powder and a little water or milk.
  • How to use: Mix all the ingredients into a paste. Gently rub it onto your face in circular motions. Wash off after 5 minutes.

3. Cinnamon and yogurt pack

This pack hydrates the skin, improves complexion and reduces damage caused by sun rays.

  • Ingredients: Half teaspoon cinnamon powder and 2 teaspoons curd.
  • How to use: Mix the two ingredients well and apply an even layer to your face. Wash off with cool water after 15-20 minutes.

4. Cinnamon and lemon juice (spot treatment only)

This mixture is a good spot treatment for drying out acne and lightening scars.

  • Ingredients: A pinch of cinnamon powder and a few drops of lemon juice.
  • How to use: Mix the two and apply directly to acne. Wash off after 5-7 minutes. Note: Do not use on sensitive skin, and never apply it all over the face. Lemon juice can dry out the skin, so use it with caution.

5. Cinnamon and olive oil

This mask is very beneficial for dry and dull skin. It deeply nourishes the skin and locks in moisture.

  • Ingredients: Half teaspoon cinnamon powder and 1 teaspoon olive oil.
  • How to use: Mix the two ingredients and gently massage them onto your face. Wash off with lukewarm water after 15-20 minutes.

Important tip: Cinnamon can cause skin irritation in some people. Therefore, before trying any remedy, do a small patch test behind your ear or on your arm. Only apply it to your face if there’s no irritation or redness.

By adopting these measures regularly, your skin will remain healthy and glowing.
