There are some cases in the world of medical science, which doctors are also surprised to see. One such case is of Sanju Bhagat of Nagpur, which people jokingly called “pregnant man”. The reason was his unusually large stomach, which looked like a pregnant woman.
But the story behind it was no less than a film. Actually Sanju was suffering from a very rare medical condition Fetus in Fetu (FIF). Let us know what this disease is.
What is Fetus in Fetu after all?
Fetus in Fetu is a very rare medical condition, in which his twin fetus gets trapped inside a human body. In an easy language, when twins are growing in the mother’s womb, sometimes one fetus is not developed properly and the body of another fetus is absorbed. This fetus grows, but never can become a completely human. This is a kind of “development error” in medical language. So far only a few hundred such cases have been registered in the world.
Why is this situation?
Scientists believe that this problem occurs during the early development of the fetus. When the twin children are growing in the same bag and one of them is not developed properly, then it is absorbed into the body of another fetus. This fetus is not alive, but can be present inside the body for many years.
Treatment and danger
No home remedy for Fetus in Fetu is possible. Until the doctor does not remove the fetus out of the body by surgery, the patient may have stomach ache, difficulty in breathing or pressure on the limbs. Most people are able to live a normal life after surgery.
