Due to weak demand in Mumbai and Pune, the sales of houses in 9 major cities of the country in the July-September quarter can decrease at four percent to one lakh units. Real estate data analyst company Propkets on Sunday released the housing market estimate for the July-September quarter.

This quarter is generally considered weak due to monsoon and shraddha. According to the data, the sales of houses in nine cities during July-September 2025 could decrease by four percent to 1,00,370 units, compared to 1,05,081 units in the same period last year. The sales of residential property in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane and Pune are expected to decline, while Delhi-NCR, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Kolkata are expected to be high.

Strengthening in housing market continues

Sameer Jasuja, the founder and CEO of the Propequity, says that despite the new offering to be low, the housing market remains strong, as the sale remains more than the new offering. Propkets estimate that the sales of houses during July-September in Thane may decrease by 28 percent to 14,877 units, compared to 20,620 units in the same period last year.

Bumper demand will remain in Bengaluru

Sales in Mumbai may decrease by 8 percent to 9,691 units, while demand in Navi Mumbai may decrease by six percent to 7,212 units. Sales in Pune may be reduced by 16 percent to 17,762 units. However, sales in Bengaluru can increase by 21 percent to 16,840 units. Sales in Hyderabad can increase by four percent to 12,860 units. Sale in Delhi-NCR can also increase by four percent to 10,990 units.

In Chennai, sales are estimated to increase from 4,675 units to 5,406 units, which is a 16 percent increase. In Kolkata, the sale of houses in Kolkata this July-September quarter is estimated to increase 25 percent from 3,774 units to 4,732 units in the same period last year.
