Drowning Incident in Deoria
In a heartbreaking incident in Deoria district, Uttar Pradesh, two young boys lost their lives after drowning in a water-filled pit on Sunday. According to police reports, the victims, nine-year-old Bhim Yadav and eight-year-old Kishu Yadav, had left their home around 11 AM to attend school.
Authorities stated that the boys' family initially tried to prevent them from leaving, citing it was a Sunday. However, the children insisted they were called by their teacher and went out to play with friends.
While playing, the boys ventured into a pit filled with water from a brick kiln to bathe, but unfortunately, they sank into the deeper part of the water, leading to their drowning.
Witnesses reported that when the boys began to struggle, their friends attempted to rescue them. When their efforts failed, they raised an alarm, prompting nearby residents to rush to the scene.
Despite the quick response, both children were retrieved from the water but were pronounced dead at the scene. Inspector Rahul Singh from the Barhaj police station confirmed that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
