The Importance of Peace for Progress
On Sunday, Jammu and Kashmir's Chief Minister Umar Abdullah highlighted that peace is essential for the advancement of development, tourism, and sports in the union territory.
Speaking to reporters, Abdullah stated, "We need peace for everything—development, tourism, or sports. If we talk about organizing day-and-night matches but the situation is unstable, who will come to play?"
During the event, he unveiled the jersey of the Real Kashmir Football Club, emphasizing that peace is the foundation of all endeavors. He remarked, "The message of today's event, which is the jersey launch, is also about peace."
On Saturday, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha also mentioned that peace is crucial for development in Jammu and Kashmir, acknowledging the ongoing presence of terrorism in the region. Abdullah stressed that the responsibility for establishing peace does not solely rest on him, urging those accountable to fulfill their duties.
