Well‑known Pakistani actor, director, and producer Nabeel Zafar, who has been in the showbiz industry for over 35 years, became visibly emotional during a recent television appearance as he spoke about his late parents and his regrets.
As a guest on a talk show hosted by Wasi Shah, Nabeel opened up about the early struggles of his family, particularly the hardships his father endured. He shared that his greatest regret is not having been able to provide his father with comforts or material luxuries before he passed away — while Nabeel was still gaining a foothold in the industry
He recalled childhood moments, including how his father once couldn’t afford a motorcycle when Nabeel was in college. After some waiting, his father managed to send him ₨17,000, which Nabeel used to buy the bike — a moment that still holds emotional weight even after many years.
When it came to his mother, he recounted how she suffered a heart attack and was brought to Karachi for treatment. After undergoing angioplasty, a clot affected her brain, and she passed away in 2016.
Nabeel also spoke about how much he missed his parents when he bought his first car — that milestone felt hollow without them there to share it. He said that although his parents did all they could to support him, fulfill his needs, and nurture his talents, he still feels a deep sorrow that he couldn’t do more for them in return.
In the televised conversation, Zafar urged viewers to cherish their parents, spending time with them and expressing gratitude, before time slips away.
