Today’s run-of-the-mill lifestyle, irregular eating and increasing stress are affecting the heart and blood circulation system. Blocked arteries – especially coronary artery – are becoming the main cause of heart diseases. This problem is usually caused by the freezing of cholesterol, fat and plaque in the body, which disrupts blood flow. Although it is treated through medical practices, some home remedies can be helpful in keeping the veins healthy and reducing blockage.
By adopting the following five home remedies, veins can be kept healthy and cardiovascular risk can be reduced:
1. Eat garlic
Garlic contains an element called alicin, which helps in controlling cholesterol and high blood pressure. Chewing one or two raw garlic buds on an empty stomach every morning is beneficial in cleaning the veins. Garlic dilutes the blood and prevents plaque freezing in the arteries.
2. Turmeric milk
Curcumin present in turmeric is a powerful anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory element, which reduces the inflammation of the arteries and reduces cholesterol. Drinking half a teaspoon of turmeric in a cup of warm milk before going to bed at night can be beneficial.
3. Amla – Natural Cholesterol Controller
Amla is an excellent source of vitamin C and the antioxidants present in it make the veins walls strong. Consuming one teaspoon of amla juice on an empty stomach every morning helps to keep the veins clean. It is also helpful in keeping both blood pressure and cholesterol balanced.
4. Omega-3 fatty acids rich in flax seeds (flax seeds)
Linseed seeds are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which are helpful in reducing bad cholesterol (LDL) and increasing good cholesterol (HDL). Taking one teaspoon of linseed seeds with lukewarm water daily can reduce the fat stored in the veins.
5. Green tea intake
Catechins present in green tea – a type of antioxidant – improve the functionality of arteries. This slows down the fat freezing process and keeps blood flow smooth. Drinking 1–2 cups of green tea a day is beneficial for heart health.
Additional Suggestion:
Smoking and distance away from alcohol
Include regular exercise and yoga in the routine
Limit fried and processed food
Keep stress controlled
