GST BACHAT UTSAV: Changes in GST rates came into effect from Monday. In the festive season, it is going to save common people. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has written an open letter to the citizens of the country, calling it a "GST savings festival". Along with this, he has appealed to buy indigenous goods.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's letter in the name of countrymen

My dear countrymen, greetings.

Happy Navratri, the festival of worshiping you and your family. My prayer is, this festival brought happiness and prosperity in your life.

This year we are getting another gift in festivals. With the implementation of Next Generation GST reforms from 22 September, 'GST Savings Festival' has started across the country. Farmers, women, youth, poor, middle class, traders, small scale industries, cottage industries, will benefit from these reforms.

The specialty of the new GST reforms is that now only two slabs will remain mainly. Everyday essential items like food, medicines, soaps, toothpastes and many other items will now be tax-free or the lowest slab of 5%. It will now be easier to fulfill dreams like building a house, buying car, eating outside or holidaying with family. GST has also been reduced to zero on health insurance.

I liked seeing that many shopkeepers and traders are telling people by putting boards of 'first and now', how cheap some goods have become.

Our GST journey started in 2017. At that time, the country was freed from many types of taxes and tolls. This brought great relief to customers and traders, traders. Now these next generation GST reforms are taking us further. It has made the system more simplified. This will further increase the convenience of our shopkeepers, small scale industries.

Citizen Gods are our mantra. In the last 11 years, 25 crore people have come out of poverty due to our efforts. A Neo Middle Class has been prepared in the country. Now it is being strengthened. We have also strengthened the middle class. No tax is being charged on income up to Rs 12 lakh. If you see income tax exemption and new GST reforms, then the countrymen will save about 2.5 lakh crore rupees annually.

The country has pledged to develop India till 2047 and to prove it, it is necessary to follow the path of self -sufficiency. The new GST reforms will also give a faster speed to the self -reliant India campaign.

For self -sufficiency it is necessary that we make Swadeshi a part of our life. Regardless of the brand, whatever the company is, if it is engaged in the hard work of Indian workers and artisans, then it is indigenous.

Whenever you buy the artisans, workers and industry items of your country, you help in the livelihood of many families and create employment for the youth of the country.

I also appeal to my shopkeepers and traders to sell indigenous goods.

Let's say proudly, it is indigenous.

Your home savings increase, your dreams are fulfilled, you increase the glow of festivals with things of your choice… I wish this. Once again, I wish you on Navratri as well as 'GST Savings Utsav'. Thank you!

Narendra Modi
