PM formally inaugurated Mata Tripura Sundari Temple Complex, know about unique spiritual heritage and Prasad Yojana

PM Modi in Tripura: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday formally inaugurated the rebuilt Mata Tripura Sundari temple complex in Udaipur, Tripura. On this occasion, he performed darshan and worship in this historic temple in Gomti district. Mata Tripura Sundari Temple is one of the ancient 51 Shaktipeeths and the locals are also called Matabari or Tripureshwari Temple.

According to mythological beliefs, a piece of right leg of Goddess Sati fell at this place during the orgy of Lord Shiva. Mata Tripura Sundari is also known as Sodashi or Lalita. She is considered the most beautiful and divine goddess among the three worlds in Sri Vidya Dharma.

Who built the temple?

The temple was built by Maharaja Blessed Manikya in 1501 AD. According to mythology, at the end of the 15th century, Maharaj was seen by Goddess Tripureshwari in a dream and ordered to start his worship on a hill near Udaipur. After repeated dreams, he installed the idol of Goddess in this temple.

The temple is known for its unique spiritual heritage, which connects the Vaishnavas and Shakta sects of Hinduism. Here Lord Vishnu is worshiped through ‘Shalagram Shila’. The temple is engraved under the feet of the mother under the feet of the mother, which is considered a symbol of the divine union of the universe and the male-woman energy. There are two black stone sculptures of the goddess in the sanctum sanctorum. The 5 feet tall main idol of Mata Tripura Sundari and 2 feet high small statue, which is called Chhoto-Maa.

Matabari Peda recently received the geographical signal (GI) tag in the form of offerings of red jaggery flowers and offerings in the temple. Every year on the occasion of Diwali, a two -day fair is held here, in which lakhs of devotees from all over the country and Bangladesh participate.

Project of Rs 54.04 crore started

A project of Rs 54.04 crore was started under the Prasad scheme for the renovation and beautification of the temple complex. This includes marble floors, new paths, entrances, drainage, three -storey campus, food court, VIP lounge, meditation room and waiting room for pilgrims. After the completion of this project, the number of pilgrims coming daily is expected to increase to 5,000-7,000.

The project will provide employment to local communities, hotels, guides and taxi owners and Udaipur will be developed as a religious-tourism center. This temple not only holds spiritual significance, but will also become a medium to empower the local economy and tourism.
