Salmon is a nutritious ingredient, packed with protein and rich in minerals and vitamins. It is also recommended as it's high in omega-3 fatty acids, which can help keep your heart healthy. And it tastes pretty good, too. But if you're looking for ways to make it taste better, you can add a few ingredients and turn it into a masterpiece.

Food website Delish shared a recipe for a honey garlic glaze that's full of flavour and comes together in less than five minutes. This salmon recipe will pair well with a side of rice and some bok choy.

How to make salmon juicier and tastier

Ingredients

1/3 cup honey
1/4 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
Two Tbsp fresh lemon juice
One tsp crushed red pepper flakes
Three Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil, divided
Four salmon fillets, patted dry with paper towels
Salt
Freshly ground black pepper
Three garlic cloves, minced
One lemon, thinly sliced into rounds

Method

In a medium-sized bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes, whisking them together.

Heat two tablespoons of oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, but not smoking, place the salmon fillets in the pan with the skin facing upwards. Season with salt and pepper, and cook for approximately two minutes, or until the flesh is heated through and lightly seared.

Turn the salmon over, skin side down, and add the remaining tablespoon of oil to the pan. Toss in the garlic and sauté for about one minute until fragrant. Pour in the honey sauce mixture and add the lemon slices.

Continue cooking while occasionally basting the salmon, allowing the sauce to reduce by one-third, which should take another three minutes.
