Cuttack: Puri Titans registered their second win in the Odisha Pro T20 League (OPTL) 2025 on Monday, getting the better of Rourkela Steelers in a rain-curtailed fixture at Barabati Stadium.
Asked to bat first after rain reduced the match to 18 overs per side, Puri Titans were in a none-too-comfortable 68/3 in the 10th over. Rajesh Mohanty and Kartik Biswal changed the momentum with an 81-run partnership for the fourth wicket to help Puri Titans reach a competitive 167/7.
Mohanty smashed 45 off 21 balls, and Kartik contributed 42 off 29 deliveries.
Rourkela Steelers stuttered to 51/5 in 10.4 overs before more rain forced abandonment.
Puri Titans were declared winners by 45 runs via DLS method, condemning Rourkela to their third defeat in 4 matches.
Keonjhar Miners win with a ball to spare
Rourkela ended on the wrong side of the scoreline in another rain-hit contest on Sunday night, when they went down by 4 wickets to Keonjhar Miners in a 15 overs per side contest.
It was a close finish as Keonjhar reached the target of 127 with one ball to spare to register their second win.
Om T Munde made a match-winning 64 off 40 balls, while his fellow-opener and skipper Govinda Poddar scored 33 in just 15 balls.
Jamala Mohapatra bagged 3/10 in 3 overs, but his effort went in vain.
Earlier, captain Aashirwad Swain top-scored with an unbeaten 65 off 42 balls as Rourkela posted 126/6 in 15 overs. Papu Ray (3/14 in 3 overs) and Sarbeswar Mohanty (3/22 in 3 overs) shared six wickets.
