The annual nine-day Brahmotsavam of Lord Venkateswara began today in Tirumala with the Dwajarohanam ritual. Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Vice-President of India C.P. Radhakrishnan attended the inaugural ceremony. The festival, believed to have been first performed by Lord Brahma as a thanksgiving to Lord Venkateswara for protecting humanity in Kaliyuga, will conclude on October 2.

TTD Brahmotsavam 2025: Extensive arrangements for devotees

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has made elaborate arrangements in coordination with multiple departments to manage the large number of devotees expected during the festival. Board Chairman B.R. Naidu, Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal, and Additional EO Venkaiah Choudhary have worked with the district administration and police to strengthen security. Bomb squads and road-opening teams have inspected both Ghat Roads to ensure smooth movement of pilgrims and VIPs.

TTD Brahmotsavam: Accommodation and facilities

Tirupati has about 250 home stays and 700 hotels and lodges available for visitors. TTD has instructed that room charges must follow the rates fixed by the board. Drinking water, toilets, and parking facilities should be provided to devotees. Complaints about overcharging or denial of services can be registered with the command control number.


Brahmotsavam 2025: Transport and travel charges

The fare for travel to Tirumala has been fixed at Rs 110 for adults and Rs 60 for children. Police and transport authorities will monitor any cases of higher charges. Auto-rickshaws, taxis, and rental cars have been arranged in Tirumala and nearby areas. Devotees facing overcharging or harassment can contact 112 or 80999 99977.

Brahmotsavam: Security and missing persons

Police said missing cases are common during the festival, especially among women and the elderly. Families can lodge complaints at the nearest police station, and missing tags will be removed once a person is traced.

Brahmotsavam 2025: Theft prevention and mobile tracking

In cases of theft of ornaments, wallets, or bags, devotees should approach the nearest police station. The district police have also set up a Mobile Hunt WhatsApp service for tracing lost or stolen phones. Complaints can be sent to 94906 17873. Reports can also be filed through the CEIR portal to prevent misuse of stolen mobiles.

TTD Brahmotsavam: Temple decoration and illuminations

The temple and its surroundings have been decorated with floral designs and extensive electrical lighting. Traditional iron frameworks and serial lights depict mythological themes such as Garuda Vahanam, Lakshmi Narasimha Swaroopam, Sri Rama Pattabhishekam, and Lord Vishnu’s avatars.

The four Mada streets, Asthana Mandapam, and Pedda Jiyyar Mutt are illuminated, while special displays such as green arches and artificial coconut trees from Nagpur have been set up. Key locations including the GNC toll gate and Pancha Janayam Guest House feature theme-based lighting.

TTD Brahmotsavam donation to the temple

Ahead of the festival, Chevella Member of Parliament Konda Visweshwar Reddy donated a golden ‘Asta Lakshmi Chandra Vanka’ necklace weighing 535 grams and valued at nearly ₹60 lakh to Lord Venkateswara temple. He handed over the ornament to TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu and Additional Executive Officer Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary in the presence of his family members.

Palanquins have been cleaned and decorated for processions during the festival. Priests, Vedic scholars, Jeeyers, and their disciples have gathered at the shrine to conduct the rituals. Decorations and frameworks crafted by artisans from Vijayawada, Hyderabad, and Tirupati add to the festive atmosphere on the sacred hills.
