If you frequently change jobs, transferring your Provident Fund (EPF) can often be a hassle. But now there's good news for you. EPFO has added the ability to download the Annexure K document directly on the member portal. This has made the transfer process easier and more transparent. Let's understand its benefits.
What is Annexure K?
It's a type of transfer certificate. This document is required when you change jobs and transfer your PF balance from your old account to a new one. It contains all the information related to your job and PF.
What information does Annexure K contain?
Your name and member ID
PF balance and interest earned
EPS (pension scheme) service history
Joining and leaving dates
Old and new employer details
What were the problems until now?
Previously, Annexure K was only shared between PF offices. Members received this document only when they requested it separately.
How to download the K document?
Now you can download Annexure K directly from the EPFO Member Portal. You need to follow these three steps:
Log in to the EPFO Member Portal
2. Click on Online Services
3. Go to Track Claim Status and download Annexure K.
How will you benefit?
The entire PF transfer process will now be transparent.
You will be able to check yourself whether your balance and service period were transferred correctly.
A digital record will be created for the future, making it easier to withdraw EPS benefits.
Union Labor Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that this facility will make employees self-reliant and increase their confidence.
PF transfers will now be easier.
Hemant Kumar, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-1 of the EPFO's regional office, stated that several improvements have been made to the EPFO, the most significant of which is Passbook Lite. This will allow members to instantly view their account summary. This will make it easier to monitor account activities.
Similarly, to make the PF transfer process transparent, Annexure K is now fully available online. This previously time-consuming and complex process will now be quick and simple.
