India's young airline, Akasa Air announced its partnership with OpenAirlines, a global leader in fuel efficiency solutions for aviation, the company announced on Wednesday.
Under this partnership, Akasa Air will implement SkyBreathe®, the innovative solution developed by OpenAirlines, to optimise its fuel management and carbon footprint while driving efficiency in its flight operations.
SkyBreathe is a 360° eco-flying platform provides actionable insights that allows airlines to highlight fuel-optimising opportunities, drive operational efficiency, engage airline professionals in sustainable practices, and significantly reduce their environmental footprint.
"By leveraging SkyBreathe®’s advanced analytics, Akasa will have access to deeper insights into our operations and unlock meaningful opportunities to optimise fuel use and emissions," Belson Coutinho, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer, said.

The platform leverages the database of over 21 million recorded flights, providing the airline with a comprehensive tool to enhance its operations, reduce fuel consumption by up to 5% without aircraft modifications, and cut CO2 emissions.

Akasa Air's network currently includes six international cities, namely Doha (Qatar), Jeddah, Riyadh (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia), Abu Dhabi (UAE), Kuwait City (Kuwait) and Phuket (Thailand).
Its domestic network spans across 24 destinations, namely Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Delhi, Guwahati, Agartala, Pune, Lucknow, Goa, Hyderabad, Varanasi, Bagdogra, Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, Sri Vijaya Puram, Ayodhya, Gwalior, Srinagar, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Darbhanga, and Kozhikode.
