Defending champions Team India will look to continue their T20I dominance over Bangladesh as the two sides face off in the Asia Cup 2025 Super 4 clash at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday. A win for either side will almost ensure their progression to the Asia Cup 2025 final on Sunday. Both India and Bangladesh are coming into this match with a win under their belt in the Super 4 stage against Pakistan and Sri Lanka respectively. Suryakumar Yadav’s side enjoy an incredible 16-1 win-loss record against Bangladesh in this format. The Indians haven’t lost to their Asian neighbours in T20 cricket since 2019. However Bangladesh have only lost one out of the last 5 T20I matches – against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2025 Group B match. But they may miss the services of their skipper Litton Das who is struggling with a back strain. Litton missed the Bangladesh training session in Dubai on Monday but the team are hopeful that he will be fit enough to take the field against India. Bangladesh in fact have not named any vice-captain for this tournament and it will be interesting to see who will lead the side if Litton Das fails to regain fitness. Bangladesh can also bring back pacer Tanzim Hasan into the playing 11 to replace Shoriful Islam who was hammered for 49 runs in their last Super 4 match against Sri Lanka. India on the other hand are unlikely to make any major changes to their winning 11. There was speculation that Jasprit Bumrah could be rested after his below-par outing against Pakistan in the last match but Team India assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate ruled that out on the eve of the match. The Indians are aware that Bumrah is doing a very tough job for the side – bowling 3 overs up front in the Powerplay overs and his final one in the death overs. “He’s doing a very tough task. You don’t see many bowlers in this format bowling all three overs in the powerplay. So it’s quite strenuous as well. But we feel it’s the right amount of work going into the Test match (against West Indies) and obviously the importance of this competition as well” Ten Doeschate said. Sanju Samson will be expected to play as a floater once again depending on the match situation. But the opening combination of Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill is unlikely to see any change.
